Know by Heart Game Review

“Know by heart” …” is an interactive game that focuses on accepting the losing. The narrative, the music along with the simple gameplay and the atmospheric mini-games in concert to create an illusion of briefly returning to one’s childhood before eventually growing with the sense of being able to feel the passing of time.

The quiet Russian town life allows participants to be immersed in the culture and history of this village.

Misha is the protagonist. Misha is stuck in a monotonous job that is never ending. But, on a particular day, he’s surprised when the girl he adored at school is back in town. For the first time in his life Misha gets a chance to break free from the monotony of daily day life. A story about a collection of old friends being reunited is interspersed with a one brief but highly turbulent incident in town’s everyday lives. They must travel through the memory lane and rekindle their friendship, but their memories of the past , and even the connections between them begin to be threatened…

Ayrat Zakirov, Ice-Pick Lodge’s CTO, leads this nostalgic project. The story’s events occur in Russia. After an extended absence, Misha is set to meet his former friends from childhood. They will reunite with their misha’s childhood pals to share old stories and reconnect over shared memories. However, their happy reunion is likely to be ruined by events beyond their in their control.
